With employees such as this one, it is no wonder that her company is failing. She informs us that she is doing a great job, but she can't make a personal career decision. She implicitly blames others for the company's potential failure.

Hello,
I have a question, my company seems to be going out of business, I was promoted to manager six months ago and I am doing a great job but this company seems to be going out despite my efforts, My question is do I stay or do I go?

My dilemma is I am worried my next employer will think I had something to do with my previous companies failure. Which I haven't. I don't want to tarnish my future employment. But I would like to hang in there as long as I can.

Thank you,
Mary

It would be a stretch to think a future employer would blame you for your current employer's business failure unless you are an owner, executive officer or principal. Or perhaps if you are embezzling there could be some question.

You don't need to identify yourself as being so very competent. You display your insecurity when you state, "...I am doing a great job...".

We can easily see that you are a fine manager on your job. But then, why are you unable to make strategic decisions regarding your own career!

You may be able to learn to make decisions if you pause while thinking. Using periods between sentences instead of commas would be a good start.

Learn to express your thoughts in writing logically with coherence. Use complete sentences, proper punctuation, and very likely, slow down.
